Nouns Ending in -win

The final -win can be added to a VAI verb stem to create an inanimate noun. For example you can take the stem ᓵᒋᐦᐄᐧᐋ saachihiiwaa- of the verb ᓵᒋᐦᐄᐧᐋᐤ saachihiiwaau S/he loves him/her and then add the final -win to create ᓵᒋᐦᐄᐧᐁᐧᐃᓐ saachihiiwaawin love. Nouns ending in -win can express both things and ideas, concrete and abstract.

Some nouns are made by adding just the final -n to a verb stem ending in -u. For example ᓂᑭᒧᓐ nikimun song. Another example is ᔒᑭᐦᐆ shiikihuu s/he combs hair. which becomes ᔒᑭᐦᐆᓐ shiikihun a comb. These are relatively rare.
