Diminutive

Observation:

ᒨᐦᑯᒫᓐ speak muuhkumaan ‘a knife’
ᒨᐦᑯᒫᓂᔥ speak muuhkumaanish ‘a little knife’

To say that something is small, the suffix -ish can be
added to a noun.

ᑌᐦᑕᐴᓐ speak tehtapuun ‘a chair’
ᑌᐦᑕᐴᓂᔥ speak tehtapuunish ‘a little chair’
ᒥᑎᐦᒌ speak mitihchii ‘a hand’
ᒥᑎᐦᒌ speak mitihchiish ‘a little hand’
ᐊᑎᒻ speak atim ‘a dog’
ᐊᑎᒧᔥ   atimush ‘a little dog’

For words that contain a -t-, the -t- sometimes becomes -ch-:

ᐊᑎᒻ speak atim ‘a dog’
ᒋᒧᔥ speak achimush ‘a little dog’
