How to convert word documents to syllabics<\/h1>\r\n

To convert a Microsoft (MS) Word document with roman ( or syllabics) ><\/span> syllabics ( or roman), one can use a macro that will handle conversion of Syllabics\/Roman. This macro works for windows based Microsoft Word. Here are the steps involved in using this macro.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n\t
  1. Setup the macro (do this once)<\/a>\r\n
      \r\n\t
    1. Download the macro<\/li>\r\n\t
    2. Install the macro<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\t
    3. Prepare your document<\/a><\/li>\r\n\t
    4. Run the macro<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

      <\/a>Setup the macro<\/h3>\r\n

      <\/p>\r\n

        \r\n\t
      1. Click here (Cree East and Moose Syllabic Convertor)<\/a> and Legacy Converter (for converting old BJECREE<\/strong> to current BJCree UNI<\/strong>)<\/a> to download the macro<\/li>\r\n\t
      2. Open MS Word<\/li>\r\n\t
      3. Go to File<\/span> > Options<\/span> > Advanced<\/span> > File Locations<\/span>\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t
      4. Choose Startup<\/span> and click Modify<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t
      5. Drag the file Unicode Cree Roman VBA Template<\/span> document into the dialog<\/li>\r\n\t
      6. Click OK and close the MS Word application<\/li>\r\n\t
      7. Start the MS Word Application\u00a0<\/li>\r\n\t
      8. You should be able see\u00a0Unicode Cree Text Tools <\/span>under the menu Add-ins<\/span> \u00a0\"\"<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

        <\/a>Prepare the document<\/h3>\r\n

        If you have roman text to convert to syllabic (roman > syllabics), You have to change the font of the roman text to Courier New<\/span>. The converter when converting roman to syllabics will look for and convert all text that has a Courier New<\/span> font. This allows you to convert documents with cree and non cree text.<\/p>\r\n

        \u00a0<\/span>The converter does not convert text in the header and footer<\/div>\r\n

        <\/a>Run the Macro<\/h3>\r\n

        Once your text is ready go the menu and choose the Add-in tab from the list choose Unicode Cree Text Tools<\/span>.<\/p>\r\n

        Choose East BJCree UNI > Roman<\/span>\u00a0 to convert syllabics to roman.<\/p>\r\n

        Choose East Roman > BJCree UNI<\/span> to convert roman text to syllabic.<\/p>\r\n
